So. The MRI showed I have a slightly herniated disk on the center of my spine, but the doctor (who specializes in the spine) says that’s true of almost everyone. The real problem is that my S.I. joint (I won’t even attempt to spell what S.I. stands for) is out of wack (or my S.I. is out of joint or my joint is S.I.’d… basically something is out of wack above Jed’s tushy).

So on Monday, I’m getting a cortizone shot which will more than likely end the insane amounts of pain that have been needling me. If for any reason I still feel pain after 2-3 days, then I have a bigger issue to deal with.

Which means that I’m going to have a fairly long weekend. Sigh.

On top of which, Teresa’s pre-treatment diet is ridiculously limiting (try to cut iodine entirely out of your diet — which means that anything that doesn’t say “non-iodized salt” on the label must be assumed to contain iodine), so I’ve been meaning to try and come up with some good recipes (am I joining Teresa on the diet because I want to show my partner some solidarity? do I want to lose weight? or am I just too lazy to cook two meals every night? yes.), but once again I have walked into the apartment at 4:something and as soon as I’ve soaked up as much as I can from our delicious A/C, I’ll go do some dishes and try to unbland chicken cutlets (verboten: dairy, flour, anything with pepper, beans, egg yolks).

I’m exhausted. If I don’t see you this weekend, be well. If I do, please don’t pat me on the back.
